Here is what you need to know about the job:
We are seeking an Assistant Designer to join our dynamic team supporting the Design Team in driving the seasonal design process for men's private label apparel. This role involves contributing original and trend-appropriate design concepts, ensuring market relevance, and overseeing the seamless execution of each stage from ideation to product delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and track design schedules to ensure adherence to the product development calendar.
- Support Designers in various tasks such as creating Illustrator sketches, preparing tech packs, working on 3D renders, and finding content for then creating deck pages for presentations.
- Maintain detailed product development files, line sheets, and design archives within Teams or any account-specific PLM systems.
- Conduct thorough design research, including competitive analysis, fabric selection, and concept development, while contributing to seasonal design categories within the broader product assortment framework.
- Coordinate and research raw materials and trims, maintaining an organized fabric/trim library for approval.
- Review lab dips, coordinate print and graphic processes, and assist in the fit process, while maintaining detailed notes.
- Maintain proactive communication with internal stakeholders, including technical design and production teams, to ensure seamless interoffice coordination.
- Cultivate collaborative relationships with vendors and internal customers, contributing positively to team dynamics and proactively managing tasks upwards when necessary.
Skills and Requirements:
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in product knowledge and fabrics with a keen eye for color.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, textiles, and trims.
- Solid understanding of the entire product development lifecycle.
- Excellent organizational, communication, note-taking, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work autonomously on projects.
- Strong multitasking abilities with adaptability to shifting priorities.
- Exceptional attention to detail coupled with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Experience in 3-D Browzwear or similar programs is a must
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe products
Compensation/Benefits:
- The approximate annual base salary range for this position is $50,000.00 - $55,000.00. The offered salary or salary range for this position will vary based on role requirements, skill set and years of experience.
