Summary

New York Institute of Technology's Jonesboro, Arkansas campus is seeking an Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs and Clinical Education. This position oversees the curriculum for our campus and collaborates with our campus in New York to ensure our curriculum is robust and educationally sound throughout all four years. 

 


  • Under the guidance and oversight of the campus Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, this position ensures overall integrity/quality in the delivery of academic programming within the College of Osteopathic Medicine in collaboration with the Office of Academic Affairs and Clinical Education in Old Westbury. Ensure the curricular assessment data is used to recommend quality enhancements to teaching styles and curricular content.
  • Identifies factors in the curriculum that warrant further evaluation and/or assessment using benchmark data.
  • Establishes procedures and programs that demonstrate a commitment to an inclusive environment.
  • Maintains a clinical practice in their specialty field.
  • Ensures appropriate accreditation and approval standards are met.
  • Monitors national, regional, and local trends in health care and health professions education to assure competitiveness in all education programs offered at the school.
  • Provides oversight for faculty development in academic programming and delivery, and Clinical Education sites.
  • Effectively guides the utilization of resources and budgets that support the academic programming of the College.
  • Represents the College to the broader community, including state, regional, national meetings, and legislative activities related to osteopathic medical education.
  • Support inter-professional education programming by being actively involved in the development and implementation of curricular and co-curricular aspects of IPE within the college.

 


 

  • Must have excellent writing and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience to motivate staff and faculty and lead teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated experience to manage complex interaction of academic programming needs and fiscal resources.
  • Demonstrated experience with and/or commitment to diversity / inclusivity in the academic environment.
  • Must possess the ability to manage faculty and staff resources effectively.
  • Must possess knowledge of faculty academic progression.
  • Must possess knowledge of COCA accreditation standards.
