Summary of Job Duties:
Offers administrative, clerical and program support to enhance and maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the Business department. Position supports business faculty and the Associate Dean of the College, provides reporting for CBI student success initiatives, and maintains faculty/course information essential to the maintenance of AACSB accreditation. Specific support responsibilities include course schedule entry for the college, coordination of textbook adoptions, travel, and purchasing. The position reports to Associate Dean of the College of Business and Industry.
Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Work Experience: Associate degree plus two years in an office setting
Preferred Education and/or Work Experience: Bachelor's degree
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
To perform the job successfully, the following competencies are required for the essential functions of this position:

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Performs basic reception and clerical duties for the CBI Associate Dean's office
  • Supports full-time and adjunct business faculty instructional and research needs
  • Maintains calendar and appointment schedule for the Associate Dean
  • Coordinates travel requests and reimbursements for faculty and Associate Dean
  • Maintains files, records, and logs for the college
  • Creates and tracks requisitions submitted by business faculty and/or student groups
  • Assists the Associate Dean with the organization of Business faculty evaluation materials
  • Responsible for inventorying and purchasing office supplies and other business program resources

Other Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Receives, distributes, or responds to mail/email addressed to the business department as appropriate
  • Provides support for the CBI advising coordinators as requested
  • Assists with events planning and support
  • Other duties as assigned

Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and by providing leadership to student workers. Requires consistent on-time attendance.
Additional Information:
Working Relationships: The Institutional Assistant has regular contact with students, faculty, and staff as well as occasional contact with the general public

Special Job Dimensions: Work performed primarily in an office/classroom setting. Occasional travel and extended hours required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer. Required abilities include walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods. Visual demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. Employee regularly talks and hears. Employee occasionally lifts items up to 10 pounds.
