Your summer will look like this:
The Assistant Day Camp Director provides an effective Day Camp program by offering logistical support to Day Camp staff and volunteers. Provides leadership and is responsible for coordinating welfare and safety of the campers in collaboration with Day Camp Director and Business Manager. Provides logistical support for programs in compliance with GSUSA, council, ACA, state, local and federal laws, policies and procedures.
- Serves as acting Camp Director when Camp Director is offsite.
- Provides logistical support to Day Camp operations to include maintaining the Day Camp budget in conjunction with the Day Camp Director; creating weekly registration reports; organizing camper health history information and assists with collection of required registration paperwork; ensuring all permits and contracts are secured and in evidence while camp is in session; ensuring organization of camp photos and/or digital media. Posts photos regularly; completes recommendations for future seasons.
- Coordinates with Day Camp Director, extended care and program support staff and volunteers, as needed to provide safe, quality programming and sufficient supervision of campers.
- Supervises and trains camp staff while providing direction, feedback, correction, and evaluation of assigned staff.
- Assists Day Camp Director in pre-camp training, planning, and preparation as well as site-specific training.
- Provide needed direction and guidance to staff and program participants.
- Attends and helps run required staff meetings.
- Attends and helps facilitate pre-camp staff training and mid-summer in-service training.
- Acts as part of camp administrative team to ensure camp program meets all objectives and follows applicable standards and policies.
- Planning, supervision, and implementation of the Camp program in accordance with the goals and policies of Girl Scouts San Diego.
- Follow all emergency procedures appropriate to Girl Scouts San Diego and in conformity with the procedures adopted by the emergency service authorizes to ensure the safety of all members, volunteers, and staff.
- Assists with other camps/programs, as assigned. May be called upon to fill any camp role.

Here is what it takes:
Must be 21 years of age.
Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.?
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Day Camp management or similar relevant experience.?
Current First Aid/CPR certifications or ability to obtain certification prior to camper arrival.?
Knowledge and experience in Girl Scout program and safety practices.?
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively in a team setting with diverse people.?
Pleasant, positive, and confident presentation of self and council.?
Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.?
Awareness of potential health and safety hazards and consult Day Camp Director as needed to control them correctly.?
Valid drivers' license, proof of insurance and/or access to reliable transportation. Daily and/or occasional travel may be required.??
