About the Role
The Assistant Controller (AC) is responsible for providing high-level support to the Medici and Corporate Controller as she manages the company's accounting and financial activities. The duties include producing financial statements, maintaining the general ledger, assisting the Controller in identifying and correcting inaccuracies in the company's financial records.
What you will do- Creating financial statement for the company
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports
- Assisting the Controller with budgetingReconcile accounts
- Ensuring all accounting practices follow legal guidelines and established accounting principlesAssisting with billing and tax documentation preparation
- Assisting with month-end and year-end close process Working with the Controller to create internal controls and policies
- Working with Accounting staff with general ledger functions
- Collaborating with the IT department to maintain financial records and system processes
- Identifying solutions to discrepancies in financial records
- Expert knowledge of accounting and financial principles, regulations, and best practices
- Excellent understanding of tax laws and compliance guidelines that affect the company
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail
- Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Collaboration and teamwork skills
- Experience with Sage Accounting software
- Microsoft Word, Excel Intermediate and PowerPoint
- Ability to take on implementation of new systems and projects

- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or related field4-5 years as a staff accountant
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CPA a plus
