Assistant Controller

Our client is seeking an Assistant Controller to step in on a contract basis while their employee takes a 4 month FMLA leave

This is an on-site role

The primary responsibility for this position will be to assist the CFO in the day-to-day operations of the accounting and administrative areas of the company. The position is responsible for supervising the day to day administrative / accounting functions and the preparation and integrity of interim and annual financial statements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with other administrative and accounting functions to ensure daily work is processed accurately.
• Design and develop internal control systems to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information. Periodic financial statements should be prepared in accordance with GAAP and the year-end statements will be subject to an audit.
• Accounts Payable entry and payment.
• Accounts Receivable invoicing and collection.
• Inventory Management Accounting.
• Cash Management and reconciliations.
• General journal entries related to month end closing.
• Assist the CFO in preparing Interim Financial Statements (Profit and Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement) on a timely and accurate basis each month. Statements should be prepared by the date set by executive management.
• Balance Sheet accounts will be reconciled on a monthly basis to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the financial statements.
• Analyses will be prepared each month to supplement the monthly management review of the financial statements.
• Assist the Controller in the preparation of an annual business plan will be prepared each year. The plan will entail a complete set of financial statements (Profit and Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement).

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or
• Five to seven years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
