Assistant Corporate Controller

Cinterra is seeking a highly driven Assistant Controller to join our team. As a vital member of the accounting department, the Assistant Controller, will be responsible for leading and supporting the various aspects of accounting for the company. This position has excellent growth potential and will require a high degree of leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and communicate to be successful. This position requires being able to improve the organization through system upgrades, standardization, and employee development.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the period-end accounting process for the Company and all subsidiary businesses;
  • Manage and assist with all aspects of the month-end close process, including reconciliation of accounts;
  • Ensure proper period-end cut-off, capital asset schedule accuracy, expense accrual completeness, and timely recording of financials with adherence to reporting schedules;
  • Executing monthly accounting, completing more complex accounting entries and reconciliations, and supervising the work of accounts payable and accounts receivable;
  • Manage and review the reconciliation of general ledger accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies as necessary;
  • Establish and maintain internal controls, ensuring proper accounting procedures are being followed by all departments and research accounting issues for compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
  • Act as a liaison for the annual (or other financial) audit(s) by coordinating, reviewing, and preparing documentation;
  • Provide period-end analysis and reporting as required;
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes, as needed;
  • Assisting with annual tax preparation and sales and use tax compliance;
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements;
  • Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department;
  • Manage the Company’s financial systems and contribute to the development of financial policies and procedures;
  • Develop, implement, and operate to financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard Company assets and ensure complete, accurate, and timely financial reporting;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures;
  • Evaluate and implement improvements to financial processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy;
  • Develop a strong, collaborative, cohesive team that has the skills and knowledge to support a growing organization;
  • Support Project Finance and FP&A teams in analysis of operational and financial performance;
  • Build strong relationships with internal departments, including IT, HR, Procurement, and others;
  • Assist with integrating new acquisitions, system implementations, and other special projects.
Requirements:


Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent education and experience;
  • Minimum of 7+ years of applicable Accounting experience;
  • Proven experience as an assistant controller or similar position with demonstrated growth in responsibilities;
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, GAAP and related regulations;
  • Experience working for a public accounting firm and professional certification (e.g., CPA) preferred;
  • Experience in the renewable energy or construction industries a plus;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is essential; Strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel skills (lookups, pivots, formula statements, etc.);
  • Experience with Microsoft DataVerse and PowerBI a plus;
  • Strong leadership and management abilities, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams;
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance;
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively;
  • Exposure to M&A a plus.
