The Assistant Contracts Manager is responsible for managing contracts for customer programs and clearly communicating on-going progress with stakeholders. These include customer supply agreements, allocation agreements, terms and conditions, and more with global EV and CE battery makers. The Assistant Contracts Manager interfaces with Business Development, internal legal counsel, external legal counsel, Quality, Operations, Marketing, Product, and Finance. This role reports to the Contracts Manager and will support Group14’s efforts to supply the largest battery makers, EV OEMs, and consumer electronics companies in North America, Europe, and Asia.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
-Review, revise, and negotiate contracts which include supply agreements, allocation agreements, terms and conditions, and purchase orders in collaboration with the Contracts Manager, Business Development, and Legal. Escalate complex legal and factual issues to appropriate teams to drive resolution.
-Lead efforts associated with the Contract Lifecycle Management of contracts in support of battery qualification programs for automotive and consumer electronics customers.
-Partner with internal stakeholders and customers to obtain the requirements needed for each contract - including internal Quality and Product teams for Quality and Technical agreements.
-Monitor contract performance and compliance. Recommend and implement process improvements for contract compliance.
-Special projects to build out Group14’s contract process capabilities, supporting a robust customer experience and superior stakeholder results.
-Provide concise and effective communications to key internal and external stakeholders on contracts progress.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
-3+ years of contract management and/or customer support experience.
-Strong cross-functional project management skills, including process design and documentation.
-Work experience with automotive, consumer electronics, battery customers, tiered suppliers, or equivalent.
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Economics, Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent job experience.
OTHER QUALITIES WE’D LOVE FOR YOU TO HAVE:
-Experience negotiating customer supply agreements with battery manufacturers and/or automotive and consumer electronics OEMs or tiered suppliers.
-Start-up experience.
-Fluent written and verbal proficiency in Mandarin Chinese to interact with our customers in China.

The annual base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $125,000. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the position is located.
