Under the supervision of the Administrator, the Personal Care Assistant Administrator is responsible for assisting the PCHA in planning, organizing, and directing the operations of Meade Street Residence in accordance with Allied Services philosophy and current applicable federal, state and local laws. The Personal Care Assistant Administrator adheres and supports all internal policies, procedures and practices.
EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program preferred.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience required.
Two (2) years Assisted Living or Personal Care experience preferred.
Understands and supports the mission statement and core values of Allied Services in relation to assigned position as well as other positions in the organization.
Meets with residents, their families, attending physicians, pharmacists, visitors, and other appropriate persons to explain and interpret policies and procedures, acts as a liaison with families and informs the Personal Care Administrator of all family and resident complaints, and insures that the care being given is consistent with Allied Services concern for the well-being of the residents.
Directs the admission and orientation of residents to the facility.
Coordinates resident medical and other related appointments.
Assists the PCAs with coordinating and monitoring resident therapy programs on a daily basis including follow-up of all new therapy orders.
Provides direct care to residents in the absence of, or to complement, staff.(
Assists with service plan, assessments and med evaluations for all residents.(
Reviews the service plans and assessments annually, upon significant change and as needed, ensures current is available to direct care staff to meet resident needs.
Ensures that the residents have an annual physical assessment completed within the appropriate time frame and upon significant change and as needed per DHS regulations.
Coordinates resident special needs with other departments and follows up as needed. Notifies the Personal Care Administrator of residents needing a higher level of care.
Assists with electronic medication administration/orders and MD orders. Audits medications and observes expiration dates to ensure safety and compliance.
Monitors psychotropic medication used to ensure it is congruent with physician orders and that the resident's behavior warrants use of the medication. (
Monitors and organizes Wellness Room, med cabinets,
refrigerators, sharps containers, etc.
Maintains resident charts per DHS regulations and updates.
Assists with and monitors all log books and QA audits as needed. Performs weekly QA checks.
Assists with interviewing, hiring and disciplinary action of staff.
Performs resident assistant scheduling and coverage for call-offs.
Designee in the absence of the Administrator.
