The hourly rate for this position is 30-35 per hour.

What you'll do:Eaton's Aerospace Group is currently seeking an Assembly and Test Technician to join our Team. This position is based at our Charleston, SC facility.
Position Overview:
Eaton's Charleston, SC location has long served as a Machining Center of Excellence for our Aerospace Group, in 2024 we are excited to bring hydraulic pump assembly and test operations in house. This position will support the transition of these operations from our Jackson, MS plant and the ongoing assembly and test operations in Charleston, SC.

In this role, you will:
Partner closely with the Jackson, MS engineering team to understand how hydraulic pumps are assembled and tested.
Sets up and operates test stands; troubleshoots and repairs failed test units.
Reads and interprets test procedures to determine if the unit meets all applicable requirements.
Interpret hydraulic schematics pressure gauges, strip recorders, and test stand "x-y" plots.
Uses measuring instruments such as micrometers, indicators, venire calipers, etc. to verify dimensional requirements.
Completes sub-assembly operations such as installation of pins, plugs, inserts, bearings, etc.
Performs minor sanding, lapping, and deburring work.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience performing mechanical assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing, military, or aviation environment.
Ability to travel frequently for the first year

Preferred qualifications:
Certification or Associate degree in Hydraulic Mechanics
A&P Mechanic Certification
Experience working with the assembly and test of hydraulic pumps in an aerospace setting
Familiarity with various types of equipment used to test hydraulic systems and components
Understanding of and ability to manipulate mechanical systems and components
Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and quality control techniques, 5S, Six Sigma, and Quality systems (e.g. QS 9000, ISO 14001, ISO-9001, AS9100).
