Seasats is a small but rapidly growing company building autonomous boats for commercial, defense, and ocean science customers. The vehicles we build are strong and durable enough to carry sensors on multi-month ocean missions, but are also light enough to be handled by 1-2 people without cranes or heavy equipment.

Role: Assembly Technician

Salary Range: $65,000-$80,000 + stock options and benefits

Rather than making a highly specific job post asking for x years of experience, we've left this post and its salary range pretty broad. If you apply, we'll see how you would fit into our organization and offer compensation accordingly. Minimal experience will lead to an offer on the lower end; killer experience/credentials will put you on the higher end.

Introduction

Since our founding, we've grown from some engineers with prototypes and big aspirations to a team of ~25 people producing sophisticated products at a steady clip. We're looking to bring on a motivated and reliable Assembly Technician to help keep production humming.

About You:

You're someone who likes tinkering and making things. You like to move quickly, but you know when to take your time and get every detail right. You like using a torque wrench, but you can work by feel when appropriate. You are:

• Skilled with your hands
• Able to create high-quality assemblies using hand and power tools
• Familiar with basic electronics and cable management
• Able to read instructions, learn new processes, and train other people
• Cheerful with a can-do attitude

In addition, you may have some of the following nice-to-have qualities:

• Maritime background
• QA/QC experience
• Experience with composites or RC vehicles

The Details:

Since launching our flagship vehicle, the Lightfish, we've been focused on accelerating our production speed while maintaining high quality. As an Assembly Technician, you'll help by accepting parts from our build team and suppliers, modifying and finishing them where appropriate, and then installing pieces until you have complete products. We're a small team, so you'll work on a variety of things, but here are some specific tasks you might expect:

• Installing masts, hatch covers, mountings surfaces, and other components into composite hulls
• Installing cameras, antennas, cable harnesses and other electronics
• Completing QA/QC checklists
• Lots of drilling, tapping, fastening and gluing
• Keeping coworkers up to date for inventory and timeline tracking
• Constantly looking for ways to improve the efficiency and quality of our assembly processes
