We are seeking a Territory Sales Manager to join our team and take charge of managing our sales representatives within a large territory. In this role, you will play a crucial part in sales planning, training, and goal-setting for our sales team. Your responsibilities will also include assisting in budget planning, engineering wireless data applications, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the entire sales process.
As the Territory Sales Manager, your key duties and responsibilities will include:
Monthly Sales Training: Conducting regular training sessions to enhance the product knowledge and skills of our sales team, empowering them to excel in their roles.
Sales Forecasting: Managing and analyzing sales forecasts to optimize resource allocation and drive sales performance.
Field Sales Calls: Accompanying individual sales representatives on field sales calls to evaluate their product knowledge and customer service, ensuring a seamless and satisfying sales experience for our clients.
Strategic Sales Goals Planning: Collaborating with the local market team to develop strategic sales goals, including sales targets for each sales representative in various areas such as PCR Sales, Installation, Engineering, Maintenance, and New Customer Acquisition.
Sales Opportunity Development: Assisting sales representatives in identifying and developing sales opportunities, staying up-to-date with industry trends, economic indicators, and competition to maintain sales volume and product mix.
Performance Evaluation: Conducting one-on-one performance evaluations with sales representatives, establishing and adjusting selling prices based on cost monitoring and competition analysis.
Recruitment and Onboarding: Participating in the hiring process and onboarding of new sales representatives, ensuring a smooth transition and providing necessary training and support.
Professional Development: Keeping abreast of industry developments by attending workshops, reviewing publications, networking, and participating in professional societies.
Sales Coaching: Utilizing recognized sales methodologies, such as SalesWay and Sandler Training, to coach and develop sales representatives, fostering their growth and success.
Internal and External Relationships: Building strong relationships with key stakeholders within the organization, including Service, Engineering, Pre-Sales, and Project Management teams. Additionally, establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships with external vendor partners.
Financial Review: Reviewing P&L statements to assess sales performance and identify areas for improvement.
Travel: Traveling within the assigned territory to visit customers, support branch operations, and facilitate the development of sales representatives (up to 50% travel).
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in sales management or a similar role, preferably within the technology or telecommunications industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a sales team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and make informed decisions.
- Familiarity with NetSuite is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
As the Territory Sales Manager, you will have supervisory responsibilities that include interviewing, hiring, and training employees. You will also be responsible for planning, assigning, and directing work. Additionally, your role will involve appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, as well as addressing complaints and resolving problems.
