Job Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Mechanical skills
Ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift up to 45 pounds
Motor coordination, manual & finger dexterity
Industrial Truck License
Job Preferences
Previous experience with extrusion die operations
Proficiency with measuring devices (calipers, optical comparators, pin gages)
Blueprint reading
Job Summary
To operate the extruder machine to produce quality plastic parts to fill all production and work orders.
Essential Job Functions
- Set-up and maintain production extrusion lines and maintain process stability throughout the production run.
- Complete and record dimensional measurements of the profile extrudate.
- Document extruder heat settings.
- Document the raw material used to produce the parts.
- Follow all safety procedures including lockout of equipment.
- Inspect and package parts when necessary.
- Test run new extrusion dies and fabrication dies when requested.
- Perform machine, slug, and length capability studies.
- Grind all plastic off-fall and non-conforming parts for recycle.
- Proper handling of recycle material.
- Proper spill clean-up procedures.
- Use of computer for tracking production and labor.
- General housekeeping.
