AP Manager
Reporting To: Director of AP and AR

Job Purpose:
The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible to manage a team of individuals that are responsible for developing and maintaining a customer-focused, high-performing, and consistent level of service. The ideal candidate must have the ability to manage the Accounts Payable operation: ensuring timely, accurate payments to suppliers, expense reimbursements to our employees, as well as other critical reporting requirements. Additional responsibilities include management and development of continuous improvement of work processes.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Lead a team spread over multiple locations and time zones
- Manage and develop AP team members
- Responsible for timely processing of accounts payable invoices
- Review and establish departmental processes and procedures
- Ensure cash discounts are taken as appropriate
- Ensure adequate controls of invoice authorizations for payments
- Review accounts payable activity and makes correcting JEs, as needed
- Assist and provide support to users company wide
- Provide reporting and data as needed for analysis and decision-making
- Ensure AP Assistant Managers are effectively dividing work among clerks to facilitate workflow
- Ensure proper cross-training of personnel
- Provide support and assistance for internal and external audits
- Heavy interaction with all levels of employees including senior management. Works directly with Controller on special projects and workflow process improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting / AP
- Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience
- AP Trade Experience is highly preferred
- Must have high emotional intelligence and lead by example
- Must be able to work well in a group environment
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication
- Must have strong customer service skills
- Strong understanding of accounting theory
- Highly detail-oriented and organized in work
- Ability to meet assigned deadlines

Environmental/Occupational Health and Physical Requirements:
Typical 9-hour day to include reaching, standing, walking, kneeling, lifting and carrying. To perform the duties of this job the employee must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment. The heavy lifting of 50lbs or more may be required. Employee also share the responsibility to perform routine housekeeping activities such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, restroom cleaning and changing trash can liners. #Li-NM1
