Chemist - Crop Protection and Nutritional Analysis

We are looking for a full-time Chemist to join our Decatur, IL scientific team. If you are passionate about following GLP's, organized and want your work to have a global impact, this is the position for you.

A day in the life as a Chemist at EPL:

Our chemists wear many lab coats generating data for pesticide regulatory submissions via reports, SOPs, protocols and other GLP study documents. Chemists coach and mentor others and lead teams to deliver high quality standards within tight deadlines and changing priorities. You will use your superb organizational and communication skills to present directly with customers and other industry professionals. Most importantly, chemists manage multiple work packages using project management tools, optimizing and developing new assays and then conceptualizing innovative solutions to solve challenging technical problems.

What you need to be qualified for this job:

• Master's degree in chemistry or bachelors with relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of residue studies (RAC/decline, field dissipation/leaching, dislodgable foliar residues, spray drift, and pollinator health) is preferred.
• Experience with chemistry method validation, method ILV studies and knowledge of data regulatory requirements (US EPA, SANCO for residue chemistry, method validation and ILV studies).
• Experience with 5-Batch Analysis (preliminary analysis/enforcement methods), Phys/Chem tests and test/reference substance characterization.
• Strong math and scientific writing skills and comfort using Excel/Word.
• Experience with LC-MS, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, GC-MS/MS and method optimization/troubleshooting and sample preparation techniques (SPE, QuEChErs, high-throughput methods (96-well plate format) and liquid-liquid extractions).
