Job Title:Software Engineer IIPower Platform
Job Summary:
The position provides application development for key enterprise applications. Applications currently in use are Project Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, the Microsoft 365 Power Platform, numerous web applications, and MS SQL Server databases. The contractor is assigned to the IT team managing information services.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Develops custom database applications, customizes existing applications; designs custom interfaces for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) including, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Project Online and the Microsoft Power Platform.
• Performs production support for these applications for cloud, LAN, and PC environments with an emphasis on database driven web applications, designing, writing code, monitoring performance, and debugging programs.
• Conducts application testing and creates documentation for all assigned development projects.
• Ensures that all internet applications conform to American Disability Act Web accessibility guidelines (Section 508)
• Provides guidance and support including analysis, evaluations, and recommendations on technical aspects of an IT development project including feasibility, best practices, and methods.
• Other Duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Working knowledge of version control and Continuous Integration within (Git, TFS, Jenkins).
• Must work well in a team environment and be flexible as workloads and priorities change.
• Must be a self-starter and able to define and solve problems.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to team goals.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field strongly preferred along with demonstrated professional experience.
Preferred:
• 5 years of experience creating relational Databases, functions, and stored procedures within MS SQL Server.
• 5 years of experience with Development of Business Applications
• 5 years of experience with the development tools including programming languages and tools to create custom applications with database driven backends.
• 3 years of experience with the Microsoft Power Platform including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse.
• 3 years of experience creating relational Databases, functions, and stored procedures preferred.
• 2 years of experience with application, methods, practices, and design principles pertaining software development and deployment preferred.
• 2 years of experience with security methods and procedures to ensure security standards are applied to IT development projects preferred.
• 2 years of experience with collection and analysis of information required for testing and troubleshooting related to website and database design, development, and maintenance.
• Experience with the following development tools is preferred: Visual Studio, Azure Dev Ops, SQL Server Management Studio, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS.
