Purpose:
The Aircraft Support Technician (AST) will be a dynamic role to ensure the utmost quality criteria of company aircraft. This position requires great attention to detail, as the executives at the highest management levels of the company view the results of their work. They must have ability to handle projects without direct supervision with attention to detail being paramount. The flight department operates as a 24 hour facility and flexibility in availability is desirable to maintain optimal operations. Position may require working outside in the elements in adverse weather conditions. Recovery and dispatch of aircraft happens on a regular basis and is in a high noise environment requiring hearing protection. The core responsibilities for the Aircraft Support Technician can be described through the following three functional areas of responsibilities including Line Service, Ground Support, and Aircraft Technical Support.
Responsibilities:
- Towing, fueling, de-icing, and ground handling functions to support corporate aircraft.
- Support as responsible party, when needed, for recovery of aircraft and movement into hangar.
- Coordination with outside charter companies, as needed.
- Point of contact to coordinate aircraft cleaning with contract vendors and maintaining vendor relationships.
- Responsible for performing inspections, preventative and repair maintenance on department automotive vehicles; motorized aircraft tow tractors, vertical man-lifts, fork-lifts and other equipment.
- Main point of contact for coordinating maintenance actions with outside vendors when required.
- Accountable for commissary of aircraft stock. This will involve regular inventory checking and shopping to maintain adequate levels.
- Working directly with Director of Maintenance and Director of Flight Operations to determine stocking configuration of food/supplies on aircraft.
- The role will occasionally assist Crew Chief/Flight engineers with scheduled/unscheduled maintenance of the aircraft under direct supervision.
- While an Airframe & Power plant (A&P) license is not required for this position, support to document training to fulfill requirements of licensure is available if desired by candidate.

- Proficiency with the use of technology and computer knowledge to include Microsoft Office.
- Pursue on-going technical training and remain cognizant of industry advancements through conferences and seminars.
- 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in aviation field.
- 2 years of line service experience desirable.
- Knowledge with use of basic hand tools.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
- High School Diploma required.
