Responsible for warehouse duties and handling of Import and Export Cargo
Duties and Responsibilities:
Adhere and enforce all safety rules and policies.
Wear all the required safety clothing and equipment.
Communicate all safety issues immediately to the Supervisor or Manager.
Breakdown, segregate and store all import cargo. Then document this information on the
inbound manifest.
Verify that all cargo received is free of damage and document all irregularities found either
manually or electronically via phone application.
Load import cargo to all customers retrieving cargo.
Receive and accept export cargo, verify correct documentation, piece count, weight, and
dimensions. Store cargo in designated areas based on its final destination. Notify the Supervisor
immediately of any irregularity found and follow their instructions moving forward.
Load/build export cargo based on the customers request to properly maximise all space on Unit
Loading Device (ULD). Secure and protect cargo integrity with poly sheet, net and tie down
equipment. Cargo must be built compatible with the assigned aircraft configurations.
Complete nightly post flight inventory of all export cargo on hand.
Complete nightly import cargo inventory per airline and customer requirements.
Ensure that all Tamper Evident Technology and screening supplies always remain secure.
Operate Forklifts.
Inspect all equipment prior to use, must meet OSHA safety guidelines for use.
Challenge entry of anyone into warehouse based on CBP, TSA and company regulations to
maintain the security of the facility.
Complete written forms required for daily duties, attendance, and proper breaks.
Housekeeping; clean and organize warehouse and surrounding areas.
Must attend all Government appointments and training necessary to obtain and maintain
employment with APS.
Report to Customers and Management both orally and written.
Communicate with local security personnel in case of emergency as outlined in the SOP.
Operate as the person in charge in the absence of the supervisor or manager.
Review the performance of subordinates.
Discipline as necessary
Ensure that all customer procedures and policies are strictly followed with no exceptions.
Train all employees in the procedures and policies of the company and its customers.
Schedule and maintain the appropriate manpower for the day’s operations.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age.
Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
Must have a valid driver’s license. DMV print out required.
If hired, form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, must be completed at the start of the
employment process.
Must provide proof to work legally in the United States.
Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening.
Must pass a 10-year background check by the LAWA authorities.
Must obtain a LAWA issued SIDA badge or pass a TSA issued STA.
Must obtain U.S. Customs seal prior to 90-day performance review.
Knowledge of basic math. (must pass test)
Must pass all testing required to work in a TSA certified CCSF warehouse.
Must pass Dangerous Goods awareness training or acceptance training.
Must maintain California Driver’s License, any suspension or loss must be reported immediately.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs.
Bend, squat kneel, crouch, stoop, reach and handle repeatedly.
Must be able to stand up to 5 – 7 hours daily with minimal sitting.
Work in moderate to loud levels of noise.
Work in adverse weather.
Work a variety of shifts, holidays, weekends, overtime, sixth day and extended hours as
required.
Daily fitness obligation required, without any impairment due to illegal drugs, alcohol,
medication, sleep deprivation or medication.
