Aftermarket Operations Manager

POSITION PURPOSE

The Aftermarket Operations Department Manager's overall function will be to manage all operations functions by ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment, maximum productivity, and economic function of the Aftermarket Operations Department for VWT Cary.   The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the daily activities of the Aftermarket Operations team.  The position directs the personnel responsible for all warehouse activity and sale order entries to ensure aftermarket orders are processed efficiently.     The Operation Manager oversees the implementation of department procedures and identifies those areas that may need improvement or further development.   Confirms that the Operating Procedures are constantly reviewed, updated, and adhered to by the Operations Staff.   Ensures that the Operations Staff are up to date with their training and certifications.  The Operations Manager ensures safety, compliance, and environmental awareness are being maintained throughout the department.    Reports normal, and/or emergent situations that could impact the Aftermarket Operations to the VP of Aftermarket & Customer Service.     Collaborate with the Aftermarket Sales team to prioritize the workload in alignment with resources.   Manage inventory planning, Supplier relations, and execution of Aftermarket Renovation Service Projects.

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures the safe and reliable operation of the department following established Aftermarket Operation Procedures.
• Manages the communication between the Warehouse, Order Entry Team, Aftermarket Sales, and Suppliers to minimize mistakes and increase efficiency.
• Proactively manages aftermarket inventory to budget and ensure stock levels support aftermarket sales.
• Takes necessary corrective action following Veolia procedures and industry best practices and at the direction of the VP of Aftermarket & Customer Service. 
• Verifies aftermarket orders are being entered, professionally packaged, and shipped on time.    
• Conducts periodic inspections of the warehouse to inspect equipment, provide direction, supervision, and feedback to employees, and ensure that all safety rules and warehouse procedures are followed.
• Perform and assist in troubleshooting activities related to freight damage, missing inventory, unidentified parts, and Supplier issues as required.
• Become efficient with LATIS, Aftermarket spreadsheets, SmartSheet, and other data platforms utilized within Aftermarket.
• Manage the relationship with the Warehouse Owner to have repairs performed and ensure the company remains in compliance with the Lease Agreement.  
• Become efficient at performing the activities for each position reporting to the Aftermarket Operations Department Manager, and serving as their backup as needed.
• Assist the Warehouse Manager with the warehouse floorplan and space management to maintain a safe working environment capable of meeting storage needs.
• Supervises and oversees the Operations personnel skill improvement, training, and safety programs. Ensures that an adequate number of certified personnel are available to operate the warehouse.
• Mentors the Operations personnel and prepares them for additional responsibilities and future advancement. Sustains the morale and motivation of operations personnel and handles concerns and/or issues as they arise.  Prepare the department to start managing the execution of Aftermarket Renovation Services.
• Assists with the screening and hiring of personnel and conducts annual performance reviews. 
• Conduct/Support Regular Department Meetings (at least monthly).   Address Safety at all Group Meetings.
• Respond to all safety-related incidents including, but not limited to injuries, incidents, and near misses; write a report that explains what happened, identify the cause, and recommend corrective action following any established business unit or division practice.

Education / Experience / Background

• A technical undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience is required.
• Experience with Kruger technologies and parts preferred 
• Working knowledge of instrumentation and controls, electricity, rotating equipment, power plant mechanics, and operations is highly desired.
• Experience in warehouse management and forklift operations preferred.
• Experience supervising hourly personnel, strong leadership, and motivational skills are required.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills/
• Proficient in time management skills and working in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong proficiency in computer skills, including Google (Sheets, Docs, Gmail, and Sides) and LATIS.
• Ability to travel up 10% a year as needed.
• Ability to work the Company's Hybrid Office schedule and at the Raleigh warehouse during office days.
• Ability to quickly commute to the Raleigh warehouse as needed.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate the Company's Lull and Forklift as needed (training and certification will be provided).

Required Certification / Licenses / Training

• A valid driver's license is required.
