We are looking for Electrical Technicians with experience maintaining, repairing, and calibrating back-end Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) for the Semiconductor test industry. Our company mainly services Advantest test platforms.
The Field Support Technician will be responsible for first-level remote support, system calibrations, and maintenance/ repair of customer ATE systems solutions. This will include hardware, limited software, networking products, and operating systems. Install and optimize hardware/software products and configurations at customer sites throughout North America, with the occasional opportunity for international travel. Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve product functionality problems. Perform on-site and in-house maintenance and calibration services. Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance, best-known methods/practices, and configurations, which may impact product system uptime performance.
Responsibilities include:
- Working within established policies, processes, and procedures, deliver hardware support services for customer's ATE system solutions
- Failure data and parts usage analysis (Excel)
- Strong teamwork and communication with local support team members and management
- Respond to most hardware technical support needs from the assigned account(s).
- Ability to ‘work-to-completion’ upon short notice, which requires working overtime
- Timely and accurate completion of all administrative tasks associated with the job performed
Physical requirements:
- Travel to customer sites
- Must be able to lift 40-50 pounds without assistance and be able to bend into machinery without restrictions.
- Push or pull up to 200 lbs. of Test Equipment and tools using a qualified cart or pallet jack.
- Transport parts or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. (assistance available when lifting item(s) over 50 lbs.).
- System repair/servicing requires frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, and occasionally working in unusual positions using full-body mobility.
An associate degree or experience in a related field is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Fluent in English
Practical experience - supporting ATE equipment, Advantest Verigy 93K experience an advantage
Travel will be required up to 25% (<24 hours’ notice on travel may be experienced occasionally).
We have the potential for full-time employment based in San Jose, CA. All candidates will be required to travel to other areas as needed and be able to obtain or already possess the necessary certifications and clearances to enter our customer sites.

Pay: $58,500.00 - $68,500.00 per year
