ADRC Technician

ORGANIZATION: 

Area Agency on Aging and Community Action Agency for Northwest Indiana, founded in 1965, the NWICA Mission is to ensure the people who experience financial hardship find opportunities, resources, and respect. We do this by helping individuals of all ages and families, through direct services and referrals.

Serving residents in Lake, Porter, Jasper, Newton, LaPorte, Pulaski, and Starke Counties

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: 

This position is responsible for overall administrative support of the ADRC and HCBS programs, and Pre-Admission Screening. This includes documentation preparation and processing, data entry and management, monthly activity reporting, customer and community partner support and adherence to funding source guidelines.

The ADRC Lead Technician is expected to be an active participant in the agency’s mission, vision, and values. He/she shall work to ensure consistent, quality services to the agency’s constituents, demonstrate enthusiasm, initiative, and flexibility in assignments and maintain positive working relationships with all agency personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least three years related work experience.
• Understanding of the critical aspect of confidentiality.
• Understanding of the aging and disabled client populations.
• Basic Math (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and basic bookkeeping).
• Basic English grammar, punctuation and spelling skills.
• Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with customers, service providers, staff members and the general public in face-to-face, telephone and electronic communication.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and manage time efficiently.
• Ability to operate a fax machine, copier, telephone, adding machine, scanner and computer workstation.
• Typing 60 WPM. Use of word processing, spreadsheet, and agency database systems.
