Salary: Starting at $30.15 per hour (with potential for union and cost of living increases)

Shift: Night Shift (2nd or 3rd)

Job Highlights:

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager of Facilities and Maintenance, the Maintenance Technician Grade A plays a crucial role in providing maintenance support to ensure the smooth operation of production, facilities, and site equipment. This encompasses tasks related to building and grounds maintenance, housekeeping, and the repair of electrical, plumbing, and heating systems. The role also includes equipment installation, performing preventative maintenance, and addressing repair tasks as assigned by the company or its representatives.

The primary objective of this role is to maintain a safe and environmentally conscious production environment by adhering to both internal and external guidelines. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician focuses on upholding equipment reliability, stability, and availability through the application of sound maintenance practices.

While the job may involve diverse tasks, the company may assign a classification to help the employee obtain their journeyman certification. However, this classification does not limit the scope of work that may be assigned.

Desired Education and Certification:

  1. Certification or training in motors and motor controls, including PLC’s, VFD’s, and HMI’s.

Required Skills and Experience:

  1. Minimum of 2 years of successful maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  2. General knowledge of electrical work, encompassing wiring, conduit installation, and schematic reading.
  3. General knowledge of fluid control, including the teardown and rebuild of pumps and valves.
  4. General knowledge of machine operation, machine repair, and machine preventative maintenance.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  1. Familiarity with general construction techniques, including small tools operation, framing, drywalling, and painting.
  2. General knowledge of all phases of electrical work, covering proper wiring, conduit installation, and other devices compliant with building codes.
  3. Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, gauges, compressors, and pumps.
  4. General knowledge of metalworking, including cutting, fabricating, and welding processes such as stick, Mig, and Tig welding, including the ability to weld stainless steel.
  5. Ability to read and follow blueprints and schematics for installation and troubleshooting.
  6. Proficiency in operating and understanding diagnostic equipment such as meters and gauges.
  7. Willingness to learn and understand all plant operations, including production equipment and safety equipment (e.g., fire pump and sprinkler systems).

Additional Information:

Actively seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 2nd and/or 3rd shifts. The starting pay is $30.15 per hour with the potential for a $2.50 union increase just ahead. The team consists of 5 Maintenance Technicians, including 3 with 30 years of experience. The ideal candidate should have multi-craft skills with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience, a strong focus on electrical work, and experience in facility/building maintenance. While exposure to Allen Bradley PLC's is preferred, it is not necessary to be an expert in PLC troubleshooting and programming, as the company has an engineer dedicated to these tasks. The role also involves maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing various mechanical machinery and parts, including gears, motors, diaphragms, and other components.
