We are presently seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Admissions Specialistto join our admissions team for our state licensed and Joint Commission certified treatment center in Houston, TX. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Position Description:
The Admissions Specialist supports the organization with coordination of admissions and client financial responsibilities for all programs.
Essential Functions:
§ Answers phone calls, emails, website leads, and other means of direct contact and coordinates appropriate client care, or referral.
§ Accurately documents clinical and contact information, and uploads into EMR.
§ Comprehends and communicates all levels of care offered, and individually prescreens for admissions and referrals.
§ Maintains a working knowledge of our insurance contracts and coordinates appropriately.
§ Verifies benefits, communicates financial responsibilities to clients and their families, and collects payments.
§ Serves as a liaison between internal staff and families, other institutions, referral sources, client advocates, etc.
§ Facilitates crisis management and interventions.
§ Follow up on all open cases.
§ Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
§ High school diploma or equivalent.
§ Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a professional setting.
§ Strong attention to detail with keen problem solving and analytical skills.
§ Ability to work independently, and efficiently coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and schedules in an allotted time frame.
§ Ability to communicate in a positive and professional manner with excellent oral and written communication skills including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
§ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accurate in typing and data entry.
§ Experience working in a healthcare or substance abuse environment preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
