The Admission and Records Specialist II reports to the Registrar. Responsible for application processing and registration of traditional and inmate student populations. Assists with various customer service support in the Admissions and Records department to students and parents. Provides administrative support to campus and inmate faculty regarding registration. Performs other duties as assigned.
Associates degree or higher is required. One year’s experience student service related assistance in the area in higher education preferred. (Related student work and/or internship experience will be considered for this position). Requires valid driver’s license or ability to acquire one prior to employment start date. Banner experience is a plus. Some overtime maybe required occasionally.
Must be a multi-task oriented individual with an appreciation for working within deadlines.
Ability to provide customer service to internal and external customers in a professional, courteous manner. Ability to perform detailed work rapidly and accurately, with excellent attention to detail. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Able to establish effective working relationships with others. Able to follow established college policies and procedures. Must be able to demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds. Ability to follow established college policies and procedures.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, see, file and bend. The employee is occasionally required to stand, kneel, bend, and twist upper body. The employee must regularly carry and lift up to 40. Must be able to operate a personal computer and other office equipment. Normal office environment. Frequent client/customer contact.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year institution of higher education is preferred. High degree of communication skills, written and spoken. Must be able to demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds.
Bilingual in Spanish is desired.

Essential Job Functions:Process Apply Texas and inmate applications in SIS system for credit and non-credit students.
Essential Job Functions:Process Admissions and Records documents into SIS system to assist students in registration.
Provide customer service support for the Admissions & Records department virtually, in-person, and by phone.

Essential Job Functions:Verify each applicant’s attendance through National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS).
