Supports Business Office functions for facility. Responsible for case reviews, checking medical records, speaking with patients and care providers regarding treatment, and respond to the plan of care. This individual is to develop and/or maintain effective and efficient processes for determining the appropriate admission status based on the regulatory and reimbursement requirements of various commercial and government payers. Maintains current and accurate knowledge regarding commercial and government payers and CIHQ regulations/guidelines/criteria related to UR.
- Will be responsible for reviewing referral clinicals to assess if patients meet criteria for admission
- Will determine patient exclusionary criteria based on Aspire Hospital's Medical Stability and Exclusionary Criteria
- Will assess both Psychiatric admissions as well as treatment room patients to determine inpatient or higher level of care needs.
- Will conduct initial Psych Admission History Assessment in accordance with State, CMS, CIHQ, HIPAA, and EMTALA regulations for patient care. Including but not limited to Voluntary and Involuntary Admissions.
- Will insure that legal documentation is up to code for patient admission per the state and county regulations and laws.
- Will insure that medical records are complete and accurate in Electronic Medical Records system
- Maintains current and accurate knowledge regarding commercial and government payers and CIHQ regulations/guidelines/criteria related to UR.
- Will coordinate with Admissions Coordinator Staff to insure payor information is accurate and meets CIHQ regulations/guidelines/criteria related to UR.
- Conducts Initial contraband checks with Admissions Coordinator Staff to insure safety of the patient and unit.
- Maintains Current and accurate knowledge of CPI, CPR, and any educational requirements for the Admissions Nurse position.
- Must have and maintain an associates or bachelors in nursing with current licensing.
Education: Minimum Associates Degree in Nursing
Work Experience: Minimum of 1 years relevant clinical nursing experience, Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Licenses & Certifications: Minimum RN license in the State of Texas, CPR (Basic Cardiac Life Support) through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, and CPI (Crisis Prevention & Intervention)
