GENERAL FUNCTION
The Administrator, Compliance will provide regulatory research and analytical support to the EyeMed Compliance team. The Regulatory Compliance Administrator role is responsible for review of new/changing regulations applicable to EyeMed at the direction of either the Director, Regulatory Compliance or the Senior Manager, Regulatory Compliance. The role is also responsible for drafting commentary on regulatory bulletins and working with Senior Managers to disseminate information to EyeMed Operations departments for implementation.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for regulatory compliance related to EyeMed regulations; including conducting federal and multi-state regulatory research and analysis on health insurance topics related to vision services
- Reviews and drafts state/regulation specific bulletins related to regulations for dissemination and use in implementing the regulation concisely for organizational use.
- Performs both internal and external research and compiles data to prepare memoranda, correspondence or tables with condense information that enables employees to readily identify anticipated changes to current requirements.
- Uses research tools to reliably search and alert Compliance team of new laws, regulations, decisions or guidelines that may impact EyeMed business lines.
- Conducts regulatory research and interpretation, as assigned, in response to requests from clients, stakeholders, management, and/or regulators.
- Maintains the Compliance Department’s library of regulatory standards (original documents and summary compilations) that is indexed, dated, and cross-referenced for ease of access and for tracking of regulatory changes.
- Accurately communicates relevant and potentially sensitive information to and from others, maintaining a high level of confidentiality and exercises good judgment.
- Anticipates and follows-up on requests and issues with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
- Assists with system data entry for tracking compliance issue requests and helps maintain regulatory issue log maintenance.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a regulatory or compliance related role
- Ability to read, effectively interpret, and summarize laws, regulations, or other legal guidance at both state and federal levels.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, with strong emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills, and ability to balance multiple tasks.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong teamwork focus and ability to foster trust and collaboration.
- Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and is proactive.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience with legal or compliance research tools/software (i.e. NILS™ or other similar industry tools)
- Paralegal or similar skillset
- Professionally interfaces and communicates among multiple stakeholders.
- Experience researching new and updated Federal and State regulations.
- Prior experience working for a managed care organization or health plan (commercial, marketplace, Medicaid, or Medicare).
- Proactively communicates potential issues and reminders to executives and coworkers as appropriate.
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
