Posting Context Statement
The position provides administrative support for the Gooding County Extension Office. Performs a variety of secretarial, receptionist, financial, and support functions. Applies computer programs to develop and maintain records, collect information, produce and distribute diverse documents. Serves as the first point of contact in the Extension office, including walk-ins, answering phones and directing clientele to the appropriate faculty or personnel.
Position Overview
Assist with administrative tasks including preparing correspondence, maintaining records, maintaining calendars, monitoring office inventory, ordering supplies when necessary and completing various assignments as needed. This position may be the first point of contact for the department, and is tasked with ensuring that information flows accurately, efficiently and effectively while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.

- Manage records and documents.
- Perform general administrative support tasks such as proofreading and receiving and distributing mail; may handle cash.
- Greet visitors, callers and/or email inquiries, determining nature and purpose and directing them to specific destinations/individuals/information.

Position Qualifications
Required Experience
- Organizing tasks to meet deadlines.
- Participating in teams to accomplish shared goals.
- Using computer software and applications for word processing, email, and internet searches.
Required Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Required Other
Additional Preferred
- Experience collecting and compiling data.
- Experience using computer information systems that manage an organization's finances, business processes and/or records.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred or a combination of education and/or related work experience.
- Knowledge of 4-H Youth Development programs and operations; other Extension programs; volunteer development; web design, marketing.
- Experience with Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.), QuickBooks, and web meeting software.
- Experience interpreting, applying and explaining 4-H regulations, policies and services; working in and Extension office.
- Ability to speak intermediate to advanced level Spanish; work professionally with people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and perform detailed work.
- Ability to balance a workload of assigned tasks to meet multiple deadlines.
