Job description

Administrative Coordinator provides administrative support to the Department Chair, Department Administrator, and Operations Manager. Responsibilities include coordinating the planning for- and scheduling meetings; scheduling the Chairman’s patients’ appointments in Klein 404; maintaining Chairman's/departmental calendars & schedules; and transcribing clinical and administrative correspondence. This individual will interface with other physicians, administrators, board members, patients and external organizations and act as the department liaison to various Boards and administrative and medical committees of Albert Einstein Medical Center. The Administrative Coordinator has responsibility for special projects as assigned by the Chair or the Department Administrator (CME activity support and on-boarding of new faculty). Also responsible for accounts payable, supply ordering, and payroll.

  • Associate’s Degree and/or 5-8 years executive level experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with clinical department operations, reimbursement and academic medical centers is preferred.
  • Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications is required.
  • Knowledge of Access data bases and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Individual must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision, demonstrate initiative, establish work priorities and be detail-oriented.
  • Administrative Coordinator must be discrete and capable of handling confidential information.
