The Administrative Assistant III provides intermediate level administrative support functions for the staff of the Waiver and Community Services (W/CS) unit of the Intellectual and Development Disabilities Utilization Review (IDD UR) section of the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). The Administrative Assistant III tracks unit deliverables and makes professional staff assignment as directed by the Nurse Manager or nursing staff. The Administrative Assistant III assists the W/CS unit by completing document requests, which includes requesting documents from external providers and maintaining spreadsheets to track documents that have been submitted. Produces unit reports, prepares, routes, tracks and distributes a variety of documents as assigned. Ensures response to inquiries regarding unit and agency processes and procedures. Schedules training and meeting rooms, provides coordination support for training events, orders supplies, answers the telephone, routes messages, faxes correspondence, distributes mail and provides support functions for the Nurse Manager or other nursing staff. Manages or coordinates special assignments on behalf of the Nurse Manager.
Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.

Experience performing complex clerical and administrative support duties with a high level of attention to detail. Experience in word processing, spreadsheet development and database systems.
Ability to communicate clearly and in a manner that prompts good customer service to include providing technical assistance or directing inquiries to the right source.
Experience developing and maintaining document tracking and filing systems-both computerized and manually.
Ability to prioritize workload to promote quality and efficiency of service delivery.
Ability to work cooperatively with others on projects
