This is an open position with Ohio Utility Operations, supporting the Ohio Edison, Toledo Edison and Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company areas of Ohio.
The successful candidate will work from the Ohio Operations office in Akron/Fairlawn, Ohio performing a variety of administrative duties to support the Human Resources department.
Summary of responsibilities:
- Demonstrates a solid commitment to all aspects of safety and supports safety as a core value throughout the organization.
- Performs a variety of administrative duties requiring initiative, judgment, and developed knowledge and skills including but not limited to:
- Processing employee actions, leaves, and changes in Oracle, ensuring accurate and timely processing of the data
- Creating and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and files for highly confidential human resources information
- Monitoring various reports, accounts, and other information for compliance
- Scheduling and organizing meetings / events
- Processing requisitions, expense statements and departmental invoices
- Compiling data and preparing a variety of correspondence, letters, forms, reports, and presentations using the appropriate office equipment and software
- Maintaining databases and mailing lists associated with employee programs
- Maintaining office supplies and processing facilities requests
- Meets customer needs by providing sound internal and/or external customer service and responsiveness. Anticipates customer needs and responds in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.
- Builds relationships and credibility across organization.
- Takes initiative to solve problems and bring issues to closure.
- Uses effective communication skills with good judgment.
- Assists with job posting and employment testing.
- Remains knowledgeable of HR policies, programs, and resources.
- Maintains a high degree of confidentiality on projects and employee-related information.
- Assists during emergencies and storm-related activities and travels to various off-site locations as well as FirstEnergy office locations, training facilities and customer sites when requested.
- Must be available to assist in outage or storm restoration support during evening, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Must have a High school diploma or GED.
- Possesses 4-7 years of related work experience.
- Must pass the Company's EEI Support and Administrative Selection System (SASS) test.
- Prior experience working with and maintaining confidential information.
- Proficiency in intermediate administrative skills and occasionally require assistance in advanced functionality; understand business units' technical and/or business processes.
- Proficiency in MS Office: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Experience with Oracle a plus.
- Demonstrates a questioning attitude to learn, produce results, and develop relationships and makes process recommendations when appropriate.
- Ability to follow established element practices, procedures, and instructions, and produce administrative work products in a thorough, timely and accurate manner.
- Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to independently prioritize and adapt to shifting priorities and meet deadlines.
