Job description

Under the supervision of the Site Superintendent in the California School for the Deaf, Riverside, the Staff Services Analyst provides high-level analytical and sensitive administrative support to the site Superintendent of the California School for the Deaf, Riverside. The SSA regularly performs a variety of sensitive duties, and is expected to consistently exercise a high degree of confidentially, initiative, independence when performing assigned tasks. The SSA will develop and maintain internal procedures and prepares needed communication documents for administration, CDE Executives & Directors. Gather and analyze data to prepare administrative reports and documents, and draft correspondence on various administrative matters. Develop, review and/or edit reports and documents both for the Site and California Department of Education (CDE) as necessary. Prepare written analyses and recommendations on issues to supervisory levels; prepare written responses to letters of the highest level of confidentiality and other inquires; draft correspondence for the signature of higher managers. Researches and prepares verbal and written analyses on correspondences. Under the direction of the Site Superintendent, the SSA shall take appropriate follow-up actions, and multitask by handling a variety of assignments with imposed deadlines. Maintain verbal or written communication with CDE Executives and Directors. Assists with troubleshooting/identifying problems and resolving issues related to CSDR grant, suggesting alternatives, and making recommendations. Provides Superintendent with program evaluation and planning recommendations. Documents all administrative meetings. Analyze, identify, develop, review and maintain agency wide policies and procedures in collaboration with the administrators, supervisors, and CDE. Maintains awareness and identifies new policies and procedures to ensure compliance with new and existing state and federal laws, Education Codes, and California Code of Regulations. Leads process of policy, procedure development and dissemination by working closely with administrators.

**EXAMINATION**
Individuals that do not have lateral transfer eligiblity, must have taken and passed an examination to obtain list eligibility for the classification in order to apply.
