Position Summary
We currently seek Adjunct Faculty Coaches with extensive leadership and employee-coaching experience to teach a high-profile, online custom corporate course that prepares frontline workers for first-time management and leadership roles, primarily within retail, fast-casual restaurant, hospitality, and healthcare industries. The course delivers foundational leadership and management skills necessary to succeed in a first management position and incorporates extensive one-on-one leadership coaching.
Within the context of a first-time, front-line management position, key skill areas in the curriculum include:

Course content is delivered through a combination of synchronous and asynchronous learning opportunities that respond to an array of student learning styles and emphasize content understanding, application, and reflection. Adjunct Faculty Coaches will leverage educational technologies to further facilitate and enhance learning.

University College uses Canvas, a best-in-class learning management system (LMS), to deliver online courses, and Adjunct Faculty Coaches will manage and teach content within a LMS course container according to a syllabus designed specifically for the course. Adjunct Faculty Coaches will incorporate their experience and real-world examples into their instruction and offer a diversity of management and leadership perspectives for first time leader managers.
The course consists of 12 weeks of formal instruction and one-on-one coaching. During eight weeks after completion of the course, Adjunct Faculty Coaches will deliver up to three, one-hour, one-on-one coaching sessions for each learner.
Formal education backgrounds among learners in the course will vary greatly, with most possessing little, if any, college experience/credit. In addition to delivering content and coaching, Adjunct Faculty Coaches will provide academic support for learners, including tutoring when needed, and instruction and coaching around college and workplace-readiness skills, including written communication, self-management, collaboration, and problem-solving.
Adjunct Faculty Coaches are hired to teach on a course-by-course basis depending on enrollment needs. Given expected enrollment volume, there may be opportunities to teach multiple course sections over time.

Essential Functions
Adjunct Faculty Coaches in the custom corporate program are subject matter experts in leadership and management and possess significant experience leading teams and coaching employees, including first-time leader managers. Within the context of first-time leader manager roles, they skillfully integrate professionally relevant, diverse examples into their teaching and discussions, adhere to the Programs Teaching Expectations, and meet the following expectations:
Deliver an exceptional student learning experience
Ensure student understanding and application of leadership and management concepts and skills
Deliver relevant, insightful, and respectful one-on-one learner coaching
Deliver learning support interventions, including tutoring and academic support
Deliver instruction and coaching that balances academic/professional achievement with learner capabilities
Maintain consistent presence in the course
Approach overall course management in a prompt, pro-active, and professional manner, including responses to learner communication.
Leverage University College-supported educational technology tools
Provide substantive, specific, relevant, and timely feedback on course deliverables
Ensure an engaged and inclusive learning environment
Model and uphold academic standards

Work Schedule
While the University's administrative offices are open Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, faculty schedules vary from term to term and are based on courses taught, service commitments, and research agendas. The University's academic calendars are posted on the registrar's website (the law school is on a semester system and has a different academic calendar).

Course Rate
The course rate for this position is $7,225 per course section.
The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
