Position: Actuarial Analyst II - Remote
The Actuarial Analyst II collaborates with team members from strategy, clinical, and new market functions to identify data driven opportunities to add value to existing and potential partners. The Actuarial Analyst II uses analytical tools to identify meaningful trend drivers with linkage to financial results. The Actuarial Analyst II presents models during workgroup calls and explains analyses to drive audience. They will be required to meet person with internal and/or external stakeholders to facilitate team and business priorities/opportunities .
Roles and Responsibilities
- Applies fundamental actuarial principles in analyzing healthcare claims data
- Develop, maintain, and analyze projections models
- Reconcile actuarial inputs and outputs
- Coordinate with external actuaries and assist with quarterly revenue reconciliation
- Maintain valuation model for opportunity analysis
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or related field
- 3 actuarial exams completed
- 2-4 years healthcare experience
- Knowledge of healthcare and/or managed care industry
- Proficiency in MS Excel for building actuarial models
- Strong knowledge of database concepts, analysis development, data warehousing, and decision tools
- Strong familiarity with SQL
- Experience with Python or R
- Experience in Commercial, Medicaid and Medicare analysis
- Experience with CMS shared savings programs
- Entrepreneurial spirit and comfort in ambiguity; desire to be a self-starter
