Job Summary:
The Actuarial Analyst will provide research, analysis and insights to support pricing, reserving, and portfolio management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Continuously exhibit and uphold Core Values of Integrity, Accountability, Communication and Teamwork, Innovation and Customer Service
- Provide front-line pricing support to business units, underwriting, and management on a collaborative basis
- Communicate indications to business units and assessment of loss reduction options
- Prepare pricing proposals and state rate filings
- Attend meetings to review results of actuarial studies and recommendations with other business units
- Monitor changes to aggregate pricing levels and profitability through periodic analyses
- Prepare special reports, data compilations, analysis of Company and industry experience, as well as other ad hoc analysis requests
- Perform program reviews
- Provide reserving support to Actuarial team
- Perform ongoing maintenance of automated systems and pricing models
- Compile statistical data and other pertinent information
- Intermediate actuarial pricing and reserving skills
- Proficiency using databases (SQL & Access)
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Intermediate knowledge of underwriting techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to organize complex information and pay close attention to detail
- Ability to work successfully as an individual contributor and in a team environment
- Ability to travel occasionally, including overnight travel
Actuarial Analyst
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required
- Minimum of two years’ actuarial experience in the insurance industry required
- Successful completion of two or more Casualty Actuarial Society exams required
- Bachelor's degree in related field required
- Minimum of four years of actuarial experience in the insurance industry required
- Successful completion of three or more Casualty Actuarial Society exams required
