The ACH/EFT Services Specialist 1 position is an introductory role designed to acquire the knowledge, skills, and abilities to be promoted into the ACH/EFT Services Specialist 2 position. An ACH/EFTSpecialist 1 exhibits exemplary service behaviors and assists the ACH/EFT team with processing administrative tasks while learning daily operational processes such as Automated Clearing House (ACH) file processing (origination and receiving) for credit union and Select Employer Group (SEG) companies, wires, and other electronic transfer transactions within required deadlines.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Personally, provides exceptional member service; uses Service Standards in every work-related interaction.
- Actively participates in meeting the goals of the department and the Credit Union.
- Provides excellent service by using a positive and professional tone to assist members and team members accurately, thoroughly, and as efficiently as possible while maintaining consistent and friendly service.
- Uses organizational tools and techniques to complete tasks on time and successfully manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
Service
- Accurately processes members and credit union business incoming and outgoing wire transfer transactions.
- Completes cash and coin orders for branches and the ATMs, in dual control.
- Reviews OFAC for wire transfer compliance exceptions and decisions.
- Analyzes wire transfers to identify patterns or trends relating to potential suspicious or fraudulent activity.
- Prevents potential fraudulent situations by identifying suspicious activity through regular duties and reports findings immediately to department leadership.
- Processes government reclamation returns.
- Provides guidance to Members, Team Members, branches, internal departments, and other financial institutions with routine ACH inquiries.
- Reconciles and processes ACH or Wire exceptions accurately.
- Operates the Federal Reserve Bank’s (FRB) processing software, Fed Line Advantage System and Fed Line Command (Fed Line), to transmit/receive financial data to/from the FRB, including wire transfers, ordering cash, ordering coins, ACH origination or receiving files, and processing statements.
- Communicates with Federal Reserve Bank (FRB), Catalyst, Loomis on daily processes based on service requests.
- Processes watch list alerts within BSA/AML software, provides various Federal Reserve Bank Statements for Accounting reconciliations, and processes members’ ACH disputes requests or fraudulent returns back to other financial institutions.
- Prepares documents to be boxed and archived and collaborates with the Facilities Department ensure proper off-site storage.
- Prepares daily and/or monthly spreadsheet reports, including preparing items for the annual ACH and Wire audits.
- Performs various clerical duties for the department, including filing, typing, and shipping documents to the warehouse.
- Ensures that all daily work is completed accurately by the end of each business day to meet stringent deadlines.
Development
- Assists ACH/EFT Leadership by serving as a liaison for existing Members to establish ACH services (origination and direct deposit) with the Credit Union.
- Assists with researching and processing exception items and balances, analyzing records for accuracy, and recommending remedial solutions for Members.
- Assists in the review of Fed Line and ACH-related written procedures to ensure they are effective, up-to-date, and reflect all modifications and changes in systems and operational requirements.
- Completes required training and maintains knowledge of and changes in the ACH and wire processing fields.
- Maintains a working knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC), Regulation D; Regulation E; and Regulation J. In addition, the rules and regulations governed by the National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA). Ensures compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to area of responsibility.

The pay range for this position is listed below.
Starting pay for successful applicants is generally within the minimum to midpoint of the pay range. Our consideration for pay is designed to support career growth and development over time. Offers extended depend on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to individual experience, knowledge, training, education, graphic location, market demands, and internal equity.
Pay range
Minimum: $20.44/hour | Midpoint: $25.56/hour | Maximum: $30.67/hour
Experience
Required- 1 year(s): A minimum of one (1) year of financial services experience and/or accounting experience, preferably in a bank or credit union, required.
