Job Description
The primary responsibilities of the Account Manager, Hotels & Resorts are to proactively provide seamless sales, marketing and customer service support to hotels in their assigned market areas, ensure client retention/conversion and to achieve/exceed established marketing revenue goals.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Present and sell marketing opportunities to designated accounts - individual hotel properties worldwide.
- Create marketing proposals and insertion orders for individual hotel properties worldwide.
- Onboard new hotels.
- Conduct New Hotel Orientation webinars and manage invitations.
- Provide customer service and assess the needs of accounts.
- Proactive account analysis and market assessment.
- Ability to problem-solve and provide productive resolution.
- Support the Managing Director and Director, Hotels & Resorts in the planning, creation and execution of Virtuoso annual marketing plan and projects as required.
- Conduct professional client meetings.
- Maintain credit/billing spreadsheets per assigned accounts.
- Attend professional events relevant to the GPP - Hotels, Destinations & Experiences department.
- Supervise personnel as appropriate.
- Achieve/exceed individual and department goals and revenue targets.
Educational and Skills Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of experience in hotel sales
- 2+ years of experience in management preferred
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem solve in a deadline driven environment
- Personable, professional team player a must
- Proficiency in MSWord, MS Excel, Power Point and Outlook
- Competencies of internal Virtuoso platforms
- Uploading Insertion Orders to Magazine Manager
- Accounting and billing updates in MM
- Providing Metrics to partners on Marketing activities
- Zoho CRM
- Virtuoso EMS
- Smartsheet
- Virtuoso.com
- Aware of current business trend knowledge
- Able to collect and analyze complex information, problem solve, and make decisions
- Strong skills in inspiring the win-win-win
- Ability to work independently
Travel Requirements:
- Infrequent travel may be required to attend company events (1-3 trips per year).
- Travel will be primarily domestic but may include some international.
Type/Nature of Contacts:
- Internal: Key job contacts are primarily with managers outside of the job’s immediate work unit/department.
- External: Daily contact with global hotel partners.
