The Purchasing Managerfills a unique role, working closely with the Corporate Culinary and Beverage team, Operations and Accounting.
Description:
The position works with outside purveyors from the smallest farms and producers to distributors with a national presence. The majority of purchasing involves high quality food and beverage for our restaurants, but also includes supplies, packaging and unique items from around the world. Candidates must be comfortable with the demands of managing purchasing for many unique brands and evolving concepts.
Position will also oversee the inventory management systems of the company.
Duties:
- Manage day-today functions of purchasing
- Manage purchasing platform for pricing and purchase Orders
- Work with Accounting to expedite invoice flow
- Manage supplier roster to maintain best quality and prices
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish strong relationships to secure competitive pricing and terms
- Monitor vendor compliance for bid or contract pricing
- Manage product list, pricing, ordering/fulfillment and transaction flow for commissary unit
- Inventory - manage monthly food beverage inventories
- Work closely with the day-to-day functions with receiving teams
- Assist accounts payable/accounting in researching any discrepancies on invoices
- Coordinate purchases related to capital projects with the operations team
- Conduct frequent quality control audits to ensure staff is properly trained and following established procedures.
- Monitor daily costs and prepare or review a daily and month-to-date Food & Beverage Cost Report.
- As required, attend Food & Beverage Meeting to review prior month’s Food & Beverage Cost Report
- Manage corporate inventory management software, which will require full functionality of system
- Train all operational and culinary teams on inventory management system
- Assist the Director of Finance in preparing forecasts and budgets
- Coordinate and participate as necessary in all month-end inventories of food, and beverage
- Supervise, and train receiving department
Required Skills:
Minimum 5 years of management experience in a purchasing capacity
- Knowledge of Dine Market
- Experience working with Craftable
