Accounts Receivable- Hcbs Waiver Specialist

The Guidance Center (TGC) is currently seeking an Accounts Receivable-Waiver Specialist to be the newest member of our innovative interdisciplinary team. TGC is a Community Mental Health Center serving Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. The Accounts Receivable-Waiver Specialist coordinates all aspects of the HCBS waiver plan, including entering data into KAMIS as well as Avatar PM. The coordinator will monitor potential waiver clients and report those to the CBS supervisory staff to begin waiver discussion with parents. This position will coordinate with CBS staff, KanCare Clearinghouse and MCO to move the waiver process to a prompt and positive conclusion. They will also track active waivers to identify re-authorization periods and update budgets. He/she will provide periodic training to all relevant staff to update them on waiver requirements and system processes. Review charges, post payments and adjustments and reconcile activity to daily ledgers.

Primary Duties for Accounts Receivable - HCBS Waiver Specialist:

1. Identifies all active waiver clients and status of each
2. Enters data into Avatar PM and KAMIS
3. Coordinates with KanCare Clearinghouse to assure all items are received
4. Responsible for waiver accounts
5. Secure and track treatment authorizations
6. Posting payments/items prior to monthly close
7. Enter/process crisis reports/screens

Minimum Qualifications for Accounts Receivable - HCBS Waiver Specialist
EDUCATION AND LICENSURE
High school education required; some college education preferred (preferably bookkeeping/accounting related)
EXPERIENCE:
Prior experience in a similar setting (preferably healthcare)
