BASIC FUNCTION: The main function of this position is to perform the duties of main Switchboard Operator; post payments received, and file Medicare and Commercial secondary claims.
SHIFT DAYS/HOURS: 8 a.m. 5 p.m.; Monday thru Friday; Subject to change based on business necessity
EXPOSURE TO HAZARDS: According to OSHA standards, this position is classified as low risk with little or no risk of exposure. Incumbent may undergo some stress in view of the need to meet important deadlines that is related to Accounts Receivable. Care must also be exercised to close all filing cabinet drawers to avoid possible injury in a crowded office.
EQUIPMENT USED: Typewriter, adding machine, pen/pencils, telephone, file cabinets, computer, printer, copier, and reports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Vocational training or college courses relating to clerical or secretarial functions may be substituted for required prior work experience.
Experience: Requires a minimum of one-year prior clerical or secretarial experience.
Certificates, License, Registrations:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be able to perform routine clerical duties. Basic computer experience is
needed. Maintain compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
Physical: Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally, and/or 10 pounds of force frequently, or negligible constantly. Walking or standing to a significant degree or sitting constantly and pushing/pulling controls.
