POSITION: Accounts Receivable Clerk
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

NOTE: Due to the sensitive nature of the information comprising this position, the Accounts Receivable Clerk shall possess and maintain the highest caliber of professionalism in regards to ethics, confidentiality and information security. This position reports to the Department Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for:
- Efficiently and accurately computing, classifying, and recording numerical data to keep financial records complete;
- Performing any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records;
- Ensuring the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions;
- Using a professional demeanor, answer customer inquiries with regards to accounts and statements, and explain Company procedures as it pertains to the customer.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, DUTIES AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to accurately post customer payments and apply discounts where applicable, change credit limits, respond to customer inquiries, and reconcile accounts as needed;
- Ability to operate adding machine, printer, fax, scanner, and copy machines to perform calculations and produce/distribute/file documents and reports;
- Perform general office duties such as filing, sorting, mailing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence;
- Ability to use computer systems programmed with accounting software to add new accounts, record, store, and analyze data as well as to answer general questions or specific account questions;
- Ability to check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes;
- Ability to arrange items or action in a certain order or pattern to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, mathematical operations, etc);
- Ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to produce work and/or solve a problem;
- Comply with federal, state, local, and company policies, procedures, and regulations;
- Maintain the highest standards of customer service and professionalism that creates positive customer experiences reflecting well upon the department and the company;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;
- Ability to make sound, common sense business decisions;
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, department manager, and corporate management, both verbally and in writing;
- Ability to work effectively within a diverse population and workforce both individually and as part of a team;
- Strong organizational skills and flexibility;
- Ability to manage time effectively;
- Maintain consistent and regular attendance;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent;
- Associate degree in business or a related field desirable;
- Prior accounting experience desirable;
- A valid driver’s license may be a requirement of this position (MVR Report must be obtained by applicant and submitted for approval prior to hire date);
- Acknowledgement of and adherence to all Company policies and procedures as contained within the Fisher Auto Parts Employee and Driver’s Handbooks, which will be provided at the time of hire.
WORK SCHEDULE:
- Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm but may change with business needs.
- Overtime, weekend, holiday work as scheduled.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Limited physical effort required in a professional office environment with occasional lifting and carrying.
- Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks, such as proximity to office equipment and household type chemicals.
