Accounts Payable Specialist/Junior Accountant

Pleasant Mattress Inc. is the Spring Air manufacturer for California and Arizona. We manufacture traditional mattresses & specialty sleep products at our 150,000-ft manufacturing and distribution facility in Fresno, CA. Pleasant Mattress is seeking a candidate for the position of Accounts Payable Specialist/Junior Accountant. We are looking for a skilled Accounts Payable Specialist who wants to learn to do more. You will be responsible for processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.

Responsibilities:

·         Perform day to day management of all payment cycle activities and provide efficient client service.

·         Track, process and reconcile payments and expenditures, including purchase orders, invoices, statements, checks, refund requisitions, etc. in compliance with financial policies & procedures.

·         Ensure correct approval, sorting, coding and matching of invoices/receipts.

·         Prepare and file monthly State Sales/Use Tax reports and Quarterly payments.

·         Regularly tabulate data and compile necessary reports.

·         Continuously improve payment processes.

·         Other duties as requested.

Requirements:

·         Proven working experience as Accounts Payable clerk.

·         Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and Accounts Payable principles.

·         Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.

·         Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.

·         Hands-on experience with spreadsheets.

·         High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

·         Excellent organizational skills.

·         Proficiency in English; oral and written.

Physical demands:

• Ability to sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift 35 pounds

Preferred Education:

• Associates degree in Accounting preferred.
