ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK
DEPARTMENT: ACCOUNTING REPORTS TO: SVP/PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTING OFFICER SUPERVISES: N/A
LOCATION: Corporate Office, Evansville
FLSA: Non-Exempt
STATUS: Full-Time OFFICER STATUS: N/A
HOURS: M-F, 8-5 *Over-time may be required if business and staffing needs dictate.
First Federal was established on Evansville, Indianas Westside in 1904 and is a community bank currently serving the residents of Southwest Indiana with seven branch offices located throughout Posey, Vanderburgh, and Warrick Counties. Two Home Building Savings Bank branches, which are located in Daviess and Pike County respectively, are also owned by First Federal.

POSITION SUMMARY:
  • Accounts Payable, Account reconciliation, and financial reporting

Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma. Banking experience and/or Accounts Payable experience a plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES:
  • Process Accounts Payable for Bancorp, Bank and various subsidiary companies. Select proper general ledger account, scan invoices/support, obtain necessary managerial approval, and pay vendors in a timely fashion
  • Corporate credit card processing recording and review
  • Prepare/Post manual journal entries
  • Place weekly currency orders for all branches
  • Assist with reconciliation of branch and departmental daily activities to identify and correct outages
  • Monthly reconciliation of subsidiary trial balances to the general ledger
  • Assist with month-end close and post-closing review for the companies
  • Prepare schedules for annual financial statements audit and internal audits
  • Gather data and compile regulatory reports
  • Ad hoc reporting
  • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • General ledger and accounting experience a plus but not required
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Communication skills
  • Ability to work with management and co-workers to identify and correct balancing issues
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task
