Scope & Purpose of Position: Process expenses into the accounting package while adhering to The Salvation Army’s accounting policies and procedures.
- Apply accounting principles and practices following standardized, well-established procedures, regulations, and guidelines.
- Institute safeguards to ensure the integrity and maintenance of the accounting system.
- Assist with the preparation of financial-related materials for audits.
- Assist in month-end closing procedures.
- Input financial-related data into computer system and maintain financial reports and records.
- Maintain an unpaid invoice file.
- Maintain and oversee maintenance of financial documents.
- Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
- Record and post expenses into the computer system.
- Provide coverage for the Accounts Receivable Clerk.
- Associate degree in accounting or realted or three years of experience preferred.
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software, and databases, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
- Should be well organized, show strong initiative, and effective follow through.
