About the Role:

Intern will contribute to the successful execution of routine, lights-on responsibilities as well as advance key strategic initiatives. Q2/Q3 2024 marks a critical time period for the Finance division with deliverables to the AMS launch and FMS integration, Business Intelligence tool development and testing and travel expense management automation. In addition, the Finance team seeks to implement more proactive monitoring of revenue and expense drivers such as application and survey volume trends and outstanding bills and expense reports to anticipate future financial performance and validate/update assumptions.

• Support the monthly financial close through NetSuite data entry/input, credit card reconciliations, bank reconciliations, transaction investigation and related standard accounting duties that are taught in classroom and apply in universal settings. Assist team managers with the preparation and execution of the monthly financial statements, the mid-year forecast process and prepare advance 2025 planning materials.
• Update client payment method analyses to identify current and historical payment pattern trends by revenue category and determine the cost impact resulting from payment method shifts Findings will support internal management evaluation of credit card fees and cost mitigation efforts.
• Conduct a mid-year inventory of the general ledger fixed assets to ensure capitalized assets remain in good working condition, the assigned asset life remains correct and assets reconcile to facility and IT inventory lists. Includes preparation of any needed journal entries to record required adjustments/dispositions.
• Support the implementation of the Travel Expense management system including user acceptance testing (UAT) and by supporting routine expense report processing as needed so the Accounting Specialists can focus on the travel platform initiative.
• Assist in updating documentation as needed following the AMS launch, Business Intelligence tool deployment and in preparation for the travel expense management platform. Also support the records retention policy at the direction of the Accounting Manager and Manager-Finance & Administrative Services to ensure compliance and free up physical and digital storage.
• Executes other Finance Division tasks as directed.

Minimum Qualifications and Job‐specific Competencies Required:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Rising Junior (3Y) or Senior (4Y)
• Strong analytical skills
• Self starter; able to work independently after direction provided
• Detail-oriented
• Financial management system exposure in either classroom or prior work experience is a plus
• Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
• Microsoft Office Proficient (i.e., WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Interest in Healthcare Industry
• Prior internship experience
