About the role:
The Accounting Specialist will be the designated payroll administrator for the location while also performing various accounting duties including reconciliations, journal entries and reporting. This position will report to the Finance Controller, but will also have a dotted line to Human Resources.
Payroll:
- Act as the main payroll contact for the location
- Responsible for the timely preparation and processing of weekly, biweekly and monthly payroll for approximately 450 employees; review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets following specific pay rules
- Coordinate efforts between payroll, human resources, finance and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data (including preparation/distribution of detailed reports, e.g. labor, work, overtime, leave balances, etc.)
- Maintenance of Kronos time and attendance system as needed
- Collect and analyze trends and metrics
- Assist with data entry and audits
- Document and maintain administrative procedures for processes including ensuring compliance with applicable government regulations and timeliness as well as accuracy of required reporting
Accounting:
- Post monthly journal entries
- Assist Financial Analysts with various tasks including monthly closing support and reporting
- Perform monthly account reconciliations
- Approve freight payments
- Assist with data entry and prepare various internal reports as needed
- 3+ years of experience in payroll and administrative functions, workforce support and customer service
- Associates degree in Accounting preferred but not required.
- Advanced analytical and MS Excel skills.
- Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines

Base salary: $66,500 - $91,500 USD annuallyTotal rewards packages listed, including base salary and bonus eligibility, applies to US based applicants only. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on a range of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies in conjunction with multiple components of the Employee Total Rewards Package.
