ResponsibilitiesThe Accounting, Purchasing & Travel Representative is responsible for providing financial and accounting, purchasing, and Travel support for the Department of English. Assists with maintaining the accuracy of the department’s financial records, initiating purchases and Travel reimbursements, monitoring expenditures, and reconciling the department’s funds to include E&G, Carryforward, Contract & Grants, SRAD, Tech Fee, FSU Foundation, FSU Research Foundation, etc. budgets.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- The disbursements and financial recording, reporting, ledger reconciliation, account modification and tracking for all departmental funds, including E&G, Carryforward, Contract & Grants, SRAD, Tech Fee, FSU Foundation, and FSU Research Foundation budgets.
- Preparing the department's monthly financial reports and reconciliations for all assigned budgets.
- Monitoring OPS employee budgets, completing monthly reconciliations, and reporting.
- Serving as the departmental travel, purchasing, and purchasing card representative.
- Ensuring accuracy and completion of all fiscal processes and monitoring the department's financial transactions.
- Supporting the Business Manager in monitoring and providing overall fiscal support to the departmental administration.
- Maintaining records, monitoring and verifying activity, ensuring compliance, and reporting on all department fund sources.
Bachelor's degree; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience. (Note: post high-school education and/or experience may substitute at a comparable rate.)
Preferred QualificationsAn individual who is flexible, adapts easily to the needs of multiple stakeholders and communicates effectively, is detailed-oriented, enjoys problem-solving, and is able to organize tasks and meet deadlines. You enjoy seeing projects through to completion. The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience include:
- Experience researching and assessing data for accuracy and identifying and taking corrective actions, if needed.
- Strong organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize assigned tasks and meet strict deadlines.
- Experience interpreting and applying policies, procedures, laws, rules & regulations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and willingness to learn new computer programs.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

The anticipated starting salary for this position is $36,250.00, commensurate with experience and education.
