ECHO is hiring an Accounting Manager! This highly visible role directly impacts on the continued growth and success of our finance department. The Accounting Manager will lead 5 experienced accountants and report directly to the Controller.
This is a hybrid position that will offer the flexibility of working from home and on-site at our Lake Zurich facility.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage general accounting functions, month end close.
- Update general ledger and reporting structure.
- Perform as the expert who ensures company records are maintained according to US GAAP.
- Own trial balance, journal entry support, and approve journal entries in system workflow.
- Review financial statement actuals to ensure compliance with US GAAP.
- Manage account reconciliation process; review and approve account reconciliations and supporting schedules for all balance sheet accounts for all entities.
- Manage ECHO’s subsidiary financial reporting, consolidation, and fixed asset accounting.
- Suggest process improvements.
- Responsible for Sales and Use tax reporting and audits.
- Manage external compliance vendors.
- Supervise preparation of Commerce Department reports, and other government agency filings such as state annual reports, Form 5500 filings, etc.
- Manage and mentor accounting team, establish goals, and monitor progress and alignment with department goals.
- Oversee and contribute to special projects and prepare various financial analyses as requested by direct manager.
- Review debit and credit memo processing.
- Assist with preparation of detailed schedules for income tax return and tax accounting, and other tax related information requests from tax firm.
- Collaborate with Cost Accounting Manager to monitor inventory, sales, and cost of sales postings, and suggest process improvements.
Audit & Compliance:
- Plan and prepare for external audits and compliance reviews.
- Own company responses to audit inquiries provided by client and schedules.
Job Experience/Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in accounting transactions, including 5 years in a manager role.
- High-volume, fast-paced manufacturing experience is required.
- Experience with major accounting software packages such as Microsoft Dynamics365 Business Central and Infor XA preferred.
- Strong problem-solver.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Strong affinity for controls and streamlining processes.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
