What part will you play?
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the month-end closing process for certain areas or entities within the organization. The Accounting Manager ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and provides valuable insights to support decision-making processes. Responsibilities
include overseeing the work of other accountants, reviewing journal entries and reconciliations, completing variance analyses, collaborating on department projects, updating process documentation, and other ad hoc tasks/reports as needed.
Impact:
This position will have a direct role in helping to establish accounting policies that will impact the financial well-being of the company. Additionally, this position will be responsible for helping to ensure that our financial statements are accurate and free of material misstatement. May have access to sensitive information.
What will you be doing?
  • Oversee and manage the month end closing process for certain key general ledger accounts, entities, and/or business units.
  • Prepare analysis and reconciliations for higher-risk, complex accounting areas and ensure timely resolution of any discrepancies identified.
  • Prepare journal entries for designated, complex areas, and review journal entries prepared by senior and staff accountants while ensuring proper documentation / audit trail.
  • Manage and review the work of senior accountants, ensuring timely and accurate close of the general ledger.
  • Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
  • Assist the Reporting team with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements (financial statements, footnote disclosures, management reporting).
  • Assess current practices, policies, and procedures to identify and execute process improvements (with a focus on future state and best practices) that increase the efficiency and accuracy of the team, and update process documentation where necessary.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide accounting reports from accounting systems (Great Plains/D365) to various team members and communicate progress of close with applicable teams.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally on projects (e.g., system implementation of NetSuite) and complete ad hoc analyses/tasks as needed.
Work Environment:
Home office setting (virtual) – acceptable internet speed and ability to work uninterrupted and free of distractions.
Working Relationships:
This position will partner with various levels throughout various departments and is a key member of the Accounting team that will also work closely with the Financial Reporting team, FP&A team, Revenue Accounting team, and International Accounting team.
What do we require from you?
Knowledge and Skills:
  • A thorough understanding of differences between US GAAP and IFRS is required.
  • Prior experience with ERP systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Great Plains, OneStream, and NetSuite.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and problem solve.
  • Ability to quickly comprehend a complex organizational structure, including the general ledger structure and various financial systems, is essential.
  • Proven ability to leverage current technology to drive process efficiency and improve accuracy.
  • Ability to work with a high level of initiative, self-motivation, confidence, and work cordially with others.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, teamwork orientation, and diplomacy.
  • Possess an ownership mentality, with the willingness to contribute to the overall objectives and do whatever is necessary to meet team goals.
  • Advanced PC skills using Outlook, Word, Excel (ability to perform Pivots, V-lookups and other functions with Excel).

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required. Master’s degree in accounting and/or CPA license beneficial.
Required Work Experience:
5-7 years of progressive experience with most recent role at the manager level or equivalent, or strong, experienced senior with leadership experience that is ready to take the next step in career.

Our compensation ranges reflect the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The pay details below range from our lowest geographic market up to our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience depending on the position offered, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
