Accounting Manager - Cpa (Client Opening)

JJ’s is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join their US team. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for leading the financial administration of the company, in close coordination with the Finance Manager and the CFO based in Australia.

Essential Functions:

• Coordinate stakeholders using an end-of-month checklist to ensure all inputs are received for month-end financial information and enforce the prescribed deadline.
• Produce and distribute management reports for senior management, monthly, annually and as required.
• Prepare VariationsReport on monthly variances.
• Review monthly Balance Sheets for accuracy and completeness.
• Review monthly income statements for accuracy and completeness and provide insights and input to management.
• Input of all relevant data into TechOne and processing of journals.
• Adjustments to any data within TechOne as required.
• Extraction of information and reports from TechOne.
• Prepare and provide all required information to external auditors for the annual CPA review for Bank of America and municipalities.
• Monitor cash balances, lines of credit, and bank and credit card transactions.
• Manage the Bank of America “Positive Pay” system, ACH and wire payments.
• Forecast cashflow requirements and request cash from the CFO with at least three (3) days’ notice, where required.
• Calculate and reconcile monthly sales and use tax obligations and fulfill the same in compliance with deadlines.
• File all IRS and government forms, including IRS 941/940 forms, IRS 2290 for state controller review, PPT returns and property tax returns.
• Liaise with and support EY in their preparation of annual federal tax returns.
• Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations, including the bank reconciliation and any resulting investigations. Ensure reconciling items are cleared timeously.
• Provide information to the CFO regarding monthly fixed asset additions for the board report. Keep Fixed Asset Register up to date and balanced.
• At the request of the CFO, Finance Manager or General Manager, conduct analysis and prepare information as required.
• Review and approve payrolls, weekly and semi-monthly.
• Review and approve invoices in TechOne, weekly.
• Review credit card usage and expense sheet with GM and upload to TechOne.
• Process lease and loan payments according to schedule within due dates.
• Review fuel reconciliations monthly and enter fuel usage into TechOne.
• Complete monthly profile journals prior to P&L report production.
• Give effect to the financial period change each month in TechOne.
• Create new users in Tech One and have a basic understanding of how the Tech One financial system works.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• CPA required.
• Proven track record of at least 3 years’ experience in an accounting leadership role.
• Experience working with teams outside of the US is preferred.
• Strong strategic and analytical skills with the ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions.
• Extensive knowledge of financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
• Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams effectively.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of integrity.
