Form of workThis position provides direct support to the Chief Financial Officer and Controller for general accounting functions, including but not limited to: overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Bank reconciliation, and overall General Ledger management. This position is responsible for the handling and reporting of all grant information to the appropriate governmental agencies on a monthly or quarterly basis.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage grant reporting ensuring all submissions comply with the grantor's request and ensuring deadlines are met, gathering required information from accounts payable and payroll specialist
- Manage capital funding reimbursement requests on a monthly basis
- Collaborate with development team to advise on donor payments received and monitor pledge receivables to ensure timely collection
- Oversee the banking needs of the organization and ensure bank accounts are reconciled monthly
- Responsible for reconciliation of several balance sheet accounts
- Work with Controller to implement policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and streamline the accounting process, specifically Accounts Payable
- Assist with year-end audit requests
- Other ad-hoc projects assigned by Controller
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Grant experience, highly desired
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent leadership, management and organizational skills
- Must be highly detail oriented
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage and direct employees
- MIP/Abila software experience a plus
- Raisers Edge software experience a plus
